Welcome to episode 273 of the Sexology Podcast! Today I am delighted to welcome Dr. Evan Goldstein to the podcast. In this episode, we discuss the best ways to explore anal sex, looking at the common mistakes people make when starting out and understanding it takes time to train your anus to make it ready for sex.

Dr. Evan Goldstein is the Founder & CEO of Bespoke Surgical and the Co-Founder of Future Method. As the preeminent expert and thought leader in the field, Dr. Goldstein is com- mitted to education and awareness—not only bringing the important issues sur- rounding gay sexual health to the forefront, but also eliminating the stigmas at- tached to it.

Relating to a wider audience, Dr. Goldstein leaves the medical jargon behind and communicates in a straight-forward, direct manner, breaking down taboos and allowing for more conversational and open discussions with the aim to educate. Dr. Goldstein has extensive experience educating and shedding light on health care issues relating to the gay community, and has been published in several na- tional media outlets including NBC.com, HuffPost, GQ, Men’s Health, The Advo- cate, well+good, Shape, and more.

Supporting many LGBTQ-focused non-profits, Dr. Goldstein is dedicated to rais- ing awareness and is involved with GLSEN, ACRIA, HRC, and is a member of Callen- Lorde’s exclusive Howard J. Brown Society. Dr. Goldstein is also the founder of the Bespoke Surgical college scholarship grant for LGBTQ students, which launched in December 2017.

Dr. Goldstein received his osteopathic doctorate from the University of Medicine and Dentistry School in 2002. Receiving the highest osteopathic education was pivotal in shaping his integrated whole-life approach towards his practice of pri- vate surgical care. Dr. Goldstein completed his residency in General Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center, exposing him to a high level of surgical acuity and a vast array of pathology.

Dr. Goldstein and his partner Andrew Yu reside on the Upper West Side of Man- hattan with their eight-year-old twin boys, Phoenix and Sebastian. Dr. Goldstein is an avid tennis player and skier, and enjoys attending concerts, collecting art and classic cars, and spending time with his family.
